We are officially a statistic...

1 in 5 adoptions end in a failed matched or a disuption of some type. Looks like we are that 1. Sad news. The agency is having a difficult time getting the birthmother to sign final consents. Apparently, she had just enough time from being discharged from the hospital to when she can legally sign the papers to go out and do drugs and drink heavily. She called the agency yesterday under the influence screaming she wanted her baby back and her money. She was threatening and yelling profanities. Child Protective Services has been notified due to her history and we had to surrender the baby back to the agency for her to go into foster care. We are not sure at this point what we can do, if anything, to get her back. I think once she is in the system she is gone. So we are returning to Texas without her. Not sure what our next steps are at this point, just trying to return to normal life. Will update if we have any more info. Thanks for all the support.

I am so sorry. But remember things always happen for a reason and I know when it is right you will be a great mom. Stay strong, Jen
