As many of you know, we have been trying to start a family for a few years. With numerous failed attempts with fertility treatments we have decided to pursue adoption. We wanted to use this blog as a way to chronicle our journey through the adoption process. This would also serve as a way to easily and quickly update family and friends without having to talk to each of you individually.
We started the adoption paperwork in Aug 2007. We completed all our paperwork and requirements and became "active" in Oct 2007. Before we really had a chance to get this site up and running we already have some good news. We were matched on Jan 10th with a birthmother who resides in Illinois. We do not know gender and she is due Feb 5th with a liklihood to go 2 weeks early (which is next week if you have not figured it out yet!). Needless to say, we are excited and nervous but are scrambling to prepare for the new bundle of joy and the travel that lies ahead. Chicago in the winter time is not our idea of fun. Our birthmother is supposed to have a Dr appt on the 14th. We will update you once we get more info. Fingers crossed that all goes well!

Hey, I think I am the first to leave a comment. Imagine that...lol. Anyway, sounds like the two or you are well on your way to being called Mom and Dad. You know I always wish you the best. Does that mean that Erika and I have to baby sit since we were planning on trying to be there anyway in April or May? I don't know about that now...lol.

So good to hear from you. This is the first time I've been to your blog. Your home is gorgeous and the news about a new little bundle of joy... well what else can I say but congratulations and you better start resting up now =-) I miss seeing you and do think of you from time to time.
